I picked up a new SIG 522 Commando the day after Christmas...the gun looks & feels Awsome in hand but I might be sending it back to SIG to check it out  :-\ I took it out of the box ran a boresnake downt the barrel a few times, loaded the 25rd mag & went to shoot....EVERY SINGLE ROUND STOVEPIPED ! The bullets loaded into the chamber & shot fine but when the bolt went to cycle another round, the empty brass would stove pipe  :(  I posted this on SIG's forum & everyone has told me that I neede to field strip the gun & Lube everyting that they ship pretty dry & that this should fix it...I done this but haven't had any "Range Time" to find out.....just upsets me that I paid $500 for a .22LR that won't cycle properly  >:( Everyone that I've talked to that has these told me that they have never had a single jam & was shocked at how mine has done....Here is the model I have

Any ideas or do I contact SIG & ship it back ?

no problems at all.. I love mine.... Maybe you should give it another try now that you have cleaned / lubed it up...
I am sure they will respond soon. They are overwhelmed right now like most firearm companies...

is the extractor making good contact. I heard Sig likes to see rifles with problems themselves and frowns on "do it yourself" repairs but I have read of a similar issue and they slightly bent the extractor upwards and to the right...

I found 2 people that spoke of similar issues. One bent the extractor and the problem went away the other sent it in. Sig repaired it and paid shipping both ways. Took 2 weeks.. It was a weak extractor spring..

I took the gun back to my local dealer yesterday while I was in town...the owner wanted to take the gun home &U shoot it for himself to see what exactly it was doing....said it might be a simple fix & if not we would ship it back to SIG. We will see in a few days !

Got the SIG522 back from SIG today, took it out for a test run.....AWSOME ! 75rnds of bulk ammo & not the first hiccup ! I shot 25rds of CCI Blazers & 25rds of Federal bulk & 25rds of Remington Golden Bullet !
3 shots offhand & standing at 20yds..the dot is the size of a dime (notice, it's not much bigger than the spyder hole).

Here is my 522

Glad to see they fixed you up ! I really like the Sig. I think it is well balanced and doesn't feel cheap. Some of these 22's just feel like a toy to me. The Sig is one of the few that still has the feel of the larger caliber version they are meant to mimic.
 Looking good !  .:)._
