I am looking to purchase a shotgun. I currently do not own one in my collection. I want something tactical in black to kind of match my AR15 look. Looking for suggestions on what to look at my price range is under $1,000 for this firearm.

Benelli M3 tactical selective semi auto or pump. I love mine.
Or grab up a VEPR 12. The Cadillac of the Saiga Ak  type shotguns.

Second on the Benelli M3. Had mine for almost 20 hrs w/ no issues. Shoots slugs great. Can put 5 birdshot rds on target before the 1st hull hits the ground.

Yes my best time is 8 rounds in 1.9 seconds.  Hitting 8 milk jugs. I use it as my home defense gun # 2. First line of defense is my Glock with a 50 round drum , then the M3 Benelli, then I fall back to the HK51 with a 30 rounder to start and 5 back up 20 rounders. If there are still more perpetrators after that I gotta reload.

They make a semi auto 1919 shotgun which is like the AR, but I like the saiga and veprs more. I have to say, I like my 24" jm pro Mossberg a lot. I picked up mine about 1 year ago for $630.
